How to Pass Emissions Testing

If you live in a state that is trying to control its pollution rates, you may be required to get an emissions test every year or two.

For example, the state of California requires that you pass an emissions test every other year in order to renew your registration and be a legal driver.

So if you’re in a situation to get your car tested, you will want to know how to pass emissions testing on the first try.

What happens if you don’t pass?

While you might want to know how to pass emissions testing, it might not seem like such a big deal to not pass.

Aside from the obvious pollution that you car will be creating because of a poor emissions test result, you will also need to either go to another emissions testing center – and pay more money as a result – or you will need to have your exhaust system replaced or repaired.

All of this adds up to time, money and frustration for you. And while you might try to get past the testing, chances are good that you won’t be able to register your car without a clean ‘bill’ of car health.
